Enhancing energy
stability and security

Avon and Dedisa Peaking Power collectively bolster the energy grid with a substantial contribution of over 1,005 MW, enhancing energy stability and security.

Dedisa Peaking Power, owned by Dedisa Peaking Power (RF) Pty Ltd, stands as a crucial energy generator in the Coega IDZ, Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape.

  • Serving as a primary source of electricity to the National Grid during peak hours and emergencies, Dedisa goes beyond mere power generation. It also plays a vital role in grid stabilization by managing network voltage fluctuations. Strategically located next to a high-voltage substation, Dedisa channels its generated electricity into the transmission system at an impressive 400 kV.
  • This 335 MW greenfield OCGT facility commenced its commercial operations on September 30th, 2015, following an efficient 24-month construction phase. Notably, Dedisa′s construction phase made a significant positive impact on Port Elizabeth and the broader Eastern Cape′s economy. It did so by generating employment opportunities and opting for local procurement, thus bolstering the provincial economy.
